Ok got a free Dell 4600 series, I wiped the hard drive and reinstalled windows xp. So I just got high speed dsl and my computer wont detect my dsl modem. Do I need to reinstall a driver or somthing? My computer knowledge is limited, but I know my way around and need help. I know it's the computer because right now I have my dads old laptop and it works on here just fine.

Go to Dell's website and download and install the lan driver for your computer. While your at it get the chipset driver and any others you may need.

Use the computer you are on now. Download the driver. Move it to disk or usb drive and transfer it over.

You can also do it with your service tag which will work better because they will know exactly what lan driver you need.
