I have a desktop computer that is hard lined into my modem. I have a Sony Vaio F series laptop that is connected wireless to my router. And I have a HP office jet J6480 printer. I want to be able to use my laptop to access files on my desktop thru the wireless connection and even print files wireless. In other words, is it possible to connect my laptop remotely to my desktop, access a file on my desktop from my laptop computer and print that file remotely to my printer? If it is possible, can you give me a quick run down on how to accomplish this?

Of coarse, thats what routers are for.
What yhou need o do is enable shareing, vista, 7, then create folders that ou want to share.
With my seetup, I have a storge only drive,m and have the entire drive shared and can be accessed by any on my systems on my connection.
It litterly takes minutes to setup.

Okay, then yes just go into the network sharing center, ad turn on sharing.
Then set the folders you want to share to sharing, in the right click menu.
