Tell me some good network analyser tool to free download

Hi,

We have recenntly installed a nortel technology network. core Passport8600, router Cisco 2511, Firewall 5111(Nortel), IDS/IPS 2150. All the remote computers are connected to edge swtiches nortel 425. Further they are connetcted to PCs with Win XP OS.

I want to know some network analysing tool which can tell me which are the nodes using net at the moment. I use AngryIP Scanner which tells total nos of connected nodes although they may not be browsing net.

what I can think of is maybe put up like a proxy server or use ethereal combine with a hub. Because with switches you can't get everything but just broadcasts.

Maybe there are other tools but I don't have a clue right now
