well, in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters
there can be a TCP Receive Window addition or increace to increase the amount of data that your pc can receive before it has to send back an acknowledgement that it did in fact receive it.

Took a second to find them...
Here are the settings for w2k and XP:

HKLM/SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters

GlobalMaxTcpWindowSize = "256960"
TcpWindowSize = "256960"
Tcp1323Opts = "1"
DefaultTTL = "64"
EnablePMTUDiscovery = "1"
EnablePMTUBHDetect = "0"
SackOpts = "1"
TcpMaxDupAcks = "2"

These have to be DWORD values.....anyway....if you are not comfortable with adding these yourself, goto this site
and download the executable and it will allow you to input the value you desire (256960)
