Someone's annoying me on the network...
So I want to ask something to make sure I'm on "the safe side"
I got bored of the slow internet connection on my IP (Server has IP restrictions: speed, ect ect) So I scanned the network IPs and caught some IPs and their MAC Addresses...
Started jumping from to the other in hope to find some IP with a higher speed setting hu hu hu..
Anyway, I got busted by some other user on the network..
Probably because I had no firewall on while I was jumping around to hide me...
However I'm using ZoneAlarmPro now..
High Security on both internet and trusted zones..
And The Ip range I'm on is blocked so that no transfer happens between them..
The question is, with that done, am I on the safe side from IP scanners? I mean if someone (not the server, a normal user) scans the network IPs and does anything, does my computer still appear on the network ? Or does the firewall hide my presense complety even again good scanners?
