tcp ip port help?

i was scanning on my virus scan and it said 1 of my tcp ip port is open, i forgot the number but is there a way to close this tcp ip port in a way to go in to a program? can you get trojans this way? help plz.

are you running a firewall?

If only 1 of your ports is open I would suggest yes.

It would be helpfull to know what port is open.

Whether this port can be exploited or not really depends on what software is listening to that port on that nic.

Can you supply some more details so we can help?

i have fire walls open in mcafee and my internet connection from my network connections, i will figure out the number of my port number soon and write back thanks
