Switches stopped communicating

Has any of you guys ever found themselves with a set of switches wchich suddenly fail to communicate. I have - Dlink Vs Level One, suddenly dont seem to like each other. What could be up with them?

Have you unplugged and replugged em back in?

Smacked them around a bit?
Prehaps, if there is a reset to defualt button try that.

If they randomly failing then its overheating or crapping out on you.

I've exhausted almost all possibilities- restart,replace (of course no reset button anywhere) .... anything.
Seems I'm fed up with Level One, coz Dlink seems ok with other switches/hubs, xept Level one (which are the minority on my network)
