Hi, can I stop ICMP ping replies?

Ping Reply: RECEIVED (FAILED) — Your system REPLIED to our Ping (ICMP Echo) requests, making it visible on the Internet. Most personal firewalls can be configured to block, drop, and ignore such ping requests in order to better hide systems from hackers. This is highly recommended since "Ping" is among the oldest and most common methods used to locate systems prior to further exploitation.

I tested my computer with Shield's Up and I want to stop my comptuer from replying to pings.

Thanks!

what firewall are you using? or does your router have an inbuilt one?

If you're using a router, zonealarm will not block pings. Your router will have a setting to block ICMP requests, although if you don't have a router, the best thing to do is use firewall software like zonealarm and deny them that way.

ICMP ping's are not a huge issue, in fact in my high security world I still let things ping me.

What kind of router or software firewall are you using, I dont think most home routers have the power to block ICMP pings.
