Slow transfer speeds on gigabit network

Keeping it short and simple. I am getting about 11-12 MB/s transfer speeds from my Win 7 desktop to my Ubuntu Server (Raid 5) over my gigabit network. All switches and both computers on the network are gigabit. I have not done a test recently to another computer, however I do seem to remember slow connection speeds when I had a box running FreeNas. Any ideas why?

Have you checked your cabling?
Has it always been this speed or just recently happened?

Reboot the switches....assuming you have though...

Those speeds are average speed for 100Mbit...
No heavy file scanning on either PC?
