Slow directory access

Hi

I have a basic home wireless network with a desktop directly connected to a wireless router and one lap wireless laptop.

I have the my_docs directory on the desktop shared and mapped as a drive on the laptop.

Everything works great and runs very fast except whenI try to access the directory tree on using the mapped drive and then it is unbearbly slow.

For example, I am on the lap top and using WORD (or any other application). I try to open a file on the desktop. When I click the directory picklist on the OPEN WINDOW and then CLICK the mapped drive, it takes 20 plus seconds to return the tree.

Sometimes it has been fast, but it usually slow.

Any ideas?
