Hi,

I've setup a wireless network between mine and my friends computer that's sharing a folder from one of the computers. However, what I need to do is for the folder to be available even if one of the computers is not currently connected to the network. Basically so that both computers can access the folder whenever they need to, because at the moment I can't view the folder unless my friend has his computer available for me to access the folder through (as the folder is on his computer). Is there any way to have a network that has a common folder that can be accessed from two computers, rather than having to access the folder through one of the computers?

Thanks for any help.

A couple of solutions.

1) have a NAS (network attached storage) hard drive with the folder there. Or a file server.

2) have copies of the folder on both computers and use a program like synctoys Download details: SyncToy 2.1 to keep the files syncronized.

Thanks for the reply. The SyncToys tool looks pretty neat, I'll give that a try.

Thanks again.
