Server Setup

i have friends who run a wholesale operation....they are using the manufacturing/wholesaling version of quickbooks with multiple users. the main pc hosts the main db and all resource that copy. they are running slow using this app and now are ready to upgrade to a server.

can y'all provide a recommendation of what i need to look for? i was thinking of the low end dell server and i need a switch too? i believe when setting up quickbooks again with their disks it can be resetup to be a server version.

any help would be great....

Is it a retail location or are they doing web based sales. If the latter then you you may not want to go any lower than PowerEdge 840 Product Details . The most expensive part of a server for a business that size will be tape backups.
