Seeking info sub domains

I am trying to find info on how to setup a sub domain on my website. I've created the sub domain on my website and created a directory with the same name in my public_html folder.

Now I am clueless on how to continue. Any pointers or websites you can recommend would be appreciated. Thanks!

are you hosting your own website or are you paying someone else to host it?

i think you have to make dns changes to add cname records

if your doing it though cPanel,just create it.
make sure there is no folder with the same name.your host will create the folder and have it configed.
it will take hours before you can see www.subdomain.domain.com ,but you will see www.domain.com/subdomain right off.
