Anyone ever see a wireless HP printer write entries in the XP routing table. I'm having a really confusing issue.

Here's a sample of the routing table. (it's 3 pages long)

0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.19.1 192.168.19.100 20
12.120.10.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.19.101 ffffffff 1
12.120.11.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.19.101 ffffffff 1
12.120.30.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.19.101 ffffffff 1
12.120.78.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.19.101 ffffffff 1
12.120.79.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.19.101 ffffffff 1

The top one is the only one that's correct the rest point to a wireless network printer as the gateway. When I manually delete them they are either replaced by similar IP's or recreated.

Also Network Magic is on this pc which I suspect may possibly be the culprit but he uses that for his cisco softphone.

Whatever is entering this, it is giving you ranges of AT&T IP addresses.
I would take off Network Magic, nothing but crap. Its about as good as zone alarm.
 
I would except my boss convinced it was a virus removed some stuff and now it won't boot lmao.

stupid bosses huh.

Do you have an image of that machine to restore from?

If not, copy the drive over using snapshot. Then reload the OS or try a repair from the windows cd.


If you say your boss, I am guessing this is a work machine XP or Server 2003?
Who the **** would install network magic at a business location??

Was a cell phone ever connected to that machine. If tethering was ever done. That may of added the entries into the routing table.
 
it's an xp machine, i don't really know this was the first time i've dealt with this client. and they're in like washington or somwhere so im just gonna keep quiet atm lol

I will try those things if it ever gets back on my plate.

and he had a cisco softphone installed, not sure if that would cause the issue?
 
hhmm, I love the end of life cycle on this.

By what I could find, it should not write IP Tables but it seems like it could very well do it. Seems unlikely but not out of ordinary.
 
It was just weird how it would replace it with a similar entry after I deleted them.
