routers and windows x64 question

Ive heard that all ethernet routers with built in adsl modems work with windows professional x64, as you dont connect to your computer with usb but using the network cable. Can anyone tell me if this is correct?

Most usb modems dont have 64 bit compaitble drivers

From everything I have read on the web, there are no (64) drivers as of yet for adsl modems. I do not think it matters if you use usb or not.
