If I have a router, do I still need to install a smoothwall?

If that is the scenario, what is the setup:
1. DSL line is connected to the router then the router is connected to the smoothwall computer then smoothwall computer is connected to a hub/switch then all the 5 computers are connected to the hub/switch?
2. DSL line is connected to the smoothwall computer then smoothwall computer is connected to the router then a hub/switch is connected to the router to connect the 5 computers?

Smoothwall computer need to have 2 Network Cards?

Thanks for your help.

Smoothwall acts as your DHCP server, so there's no need for a router. It'd be: DSL line --> smoothwall --> switch. Yes your smoothwall machine needs 2 NICs.
