My buddy is going to be moving in soon, and he wants to connect to my internet. I'm good with routers, but don't know much about lengths of the cables. My modem is up stairs, and his room will be downstairs. What is the maximum length of cable I can have before I start losing signal quality? I won't run wireless anymore, because of what happened to me a few weeks ago (Downloaded content, and my wireless was unsecured). Not sure which router I will get yet, but I'm going to switch out from a Belkin Plus MIMO piece of ****.
