Router Jam ups?

I have a Linksys router, and it doesn't happen all the time, but every once in a while my internet will stop running (I have cable) and then if I unplug my modem and router, reset them and plug them back it my internet will be working again, at first I thought it was maybe my cable company, but it only happens on my computers, not any of my friends who are most likely on the same node as myself... Does anyone know what this problem could be?

Do you have a P2P program running? I heard that Linksys has a problem with the number of simultaneous connections. If this "limit" is exceeded, the router jams up like your talking about. Happened to me with Emule until I limited the number of simultaneous connections.

Also, some broadband ISP's slowdown/shutdown your internet connection if they detect a higher than normal activity level to ensure broadband to the other subscribers.
