My question is: does the router always have to have the first address in the subnet? example: subnet 192.168.45.24/29 router address = 192.168.45.25
Thanks, Duston

You can change hour router's IP address. Login to your router by typing your current router's IP in the address bar of your browser, then navigate to your settings.

No, the router doesn't have to have the first address. It's just generally accepted (not sure if there's an official standard or not) that the router/switch/etc. reserve the lower address(es), to make them easier to find.
