Why you experience dropping of wireless connections (or sometimes low signal even if the router is near to the wireless computer) are:
*Environment issue. Wireless signals from TVs, microwave ovens, and other Electro Magnetic Inference (EMI) devices could interfere with wireless networking. Avoid placing it near the devices mentioned.
*The firmware of the router. Firmware issue is supported by the manufacturer.
*The wireless adapter might be out-dated, check the support site of the wireless adapter (if it's a laptop w/ built-in wireless adapter, ask the tech support if there is an update) and install the updated driver.
