hey guys, i need a good fast secure remote administration app to use on some of my family who live far.far away lol. I need something fast. Is there anything without a screenshot preview interface and just txt based?.

ahh hope you get what i mean. Anyways i need a free one to help sort their computer out.

Wow, have not heard that term (telnet) for many, many years...

Do modern OSes come with Telnet Clients/Servers? Or are there free downloads that will work with XP or Vista?

telnet is and always will be a part of the windows OS in my opinion. Windows owes that protocol a great favor actually! LOL I mean, how many other client-server protocols, that were around before TCP-IP, do we still use? Not many ... LOL

I still use telnet today. It's great when I have to deploy a program or script to a bunch of our stores in germany. I don't want to use anything that would slow it down. telnet is simple, fast, and just down to the meat and potatoes for when I just need to get something done.
