regerding email

hi guy i am running microsoft exchange server and i want to get my email on outlook . i can get email on outlook on those which are attach to local network but i can't over the internet behind firewall i think it just a openning a right port will you guy help me which port i have to open to get mail on outlook over the internet

Email Ports: For networks, a port means an endpoint to a logical connection. The port number identifies what type of port it is. Here are the default ports for:
POP3 - port 110
IMAP - port 143
SMTP - port 25
HTTP - port 80
Secure SMTP (SSMTP) - port 465
Secure IMAP (IMAP4-SSL) - port 585
IMAP4 over SSL (IMAPS) - port 993
Secure POP3 (SSL-POP) - port 995

you can use telnet to connect w/o outlook. run from command line,
telnet ipaddress port#

ex: telnet 127.0.0.1 25

open outlook and check to see which port you are using for internal machines

When you say you can't over the internet I assume you are using RPC over HTTP? If so, are you sure you have the correct server typed in to the box? Is authentication setup correctly?

I wouldn't think a firewall would be the problem here as you are using outbound port 80 which is almost always open.

no its port problem when firwall is off from my server then i can receive email on to my out look
