random connection failure

ok so i have a Belkin router, and on and off several comps use it not all at a given time. however the relevance in that is none of them seem to have a problem they come in range it logs them in auto and they stay on no prob till they leave. BUUUUUUT for some reason my laptop does not like to stay on this network, everytime i turn it on i have to shut off the wifi turn it on disconect reconect and retype the password for the channel and i dc at randone on top of that please help >.<

First you need to provide the model of Belkin router and the make, model and OS of your laptop. If you're using a wireless adapter card add that too.

No card used im no farther then 4 feet from the router

Is it still running Vista or have you upgraded to 7?

First thing I would try is uninstalling your wireless adapter driver and install a new copy downloaded from either ASUS or Intel. Preferably Intel.

um, still running vista thiunkning of upgradeing though.

Vista might be your problem. Certain wireless adapters work poorly on Vista. I know I had a client who's laptop froze every 5 minutes because the driver was locking up with Vista.
