Question on cheap home routers

Is there a limit to how many computers those routers can handle? For instance, like your average home router that's less than $100 dollars. I see that most of them come in 4 port or 8 port. Can you only have 4 computrs connected to the 4 port and 8 connected to the 8 port? Or can you hook up switches to them and put on like 16 computers on one router?

Yes, you can connect your PC's via a switch, then connect the switch to the router.
