Can someone clear something up for me?

i'm working on a bit of networks coursework looking at stop and wait and sliding window protocols. It talks a lot about propogation time but cant for the life of me figure out what it is.

There are two different times i need to deal with
1) Transmission time
2) propagation time

According to my book transmission time is the length of time it takes for a frame to get from A to B, so would propagation time be the time between A sending out frame i and sending out frame i+1. (i.e. frame i has been sent out by A and the acknowledgement for i has been received by A)

thanks

i have cleared this up now. incase anyone else is interested:

trip time = propogation time + transmission time + processing time

where transmission time is determined by the rate at which bits go on or off the link (tt=packet size / bandwidth)

propogation time is the time it takes to get from A to B once the packet is on the link
