I am new here hope you could help me. I have 5 PC in my network 2 of them are windows 98 and the rest are windows XP. My problem now is I have a PC named "Planning" they are all in a workgroup name "R7", the problem is all of them can connect to the planning computer exept for 1 windows 98 PC which has an error stating //planning is not accessible...... how can that be if all the other 3 pc can connect to planning. please help... Thanks in advance...

On your 98 machine do you have netbeui and the ipsx protocol installed? On your network properties box click add, then protocols, then microsoft, and add the netbeui and ipsx. reboot and see if your network picks it up.
What about firewalls? Do you have any installed? Some firewalls require you to recognize the network pcs individually to be able to access the network properly.

Enable the guest account on the Windows XP Machine

a Common problem between Windows 9x OS and Windows 2000 the guest account needs to be enabled to network between the 2

Not sure it is the same under XP but as it is NT Technology might be the same
