it says that i am fully connected, but i can not get onto the web or do any chatting or nothing that requires me to have an ISP

it says that i have a very good connection. 54mbps.
but still i cannot get onto anything

IS THIS DIAL UP ? Windows xp ?

click start
click run
type in cmd
click ok
type in ipconfig/all
hit enter

you are looking for the ip address from your ISP, you may have to scroll down, you also have to be connected
do not confuse with a possible nic ip
once you find your isp's ip and dns ip addresses
one at a time
type ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxxx
press enter , there may be two dns ip's

you should get a reply , 100%

more then likely you have spyware or a virus or trojan or combo of all

mmm gotta love wireless :)

Try dissconnecting and reconnecting again. If its a laptop, try hooking it directly into the modem to be sure its not your computer.

I'm pretty sure its your router though.

Try powercycling your modem and router. Unplug them both and plug them back in, restart your PC and give it a go.
