Printer Network Problem

Also, you can get a fairly cheap (sub-$100) printer that is wireless. Then you can have a backup if you need it. Plus you won't have to leave the computer on that the printer is connected to like you do with your current setup.

A word of wisdom with printers (anything, really) is to download the latest software from the manufacturer's web site to install and don't use the disc. I remember when Vista first came out and folks were shoving their discs into the machine and ignoring the warning that the software wasn't compatible then wondering why their computer was blue screening... smh...

very confused on this, as your issue is with a USB printer but you testing solutions with network printer.. which both work in different ways...

Does not add up.

Anyways, good luck

He's sharing the printer which is connected via USB to a computer over the network so that other devices on the network can print. Network sharing must be set correctly for this to happen, which is why we were testing network settings. Many of the same settings still apply. :)

Yes but you cannot confirm solutions if your running a test against a network printer to try and verify the fault, as your test is directing to the printer! which could be fine regardless.

You need to run tests against the computer to computer communication as you suggested, but the OP said he doing tests against the network printer....

So that confuses me.
