Im in the process of upgrading my network ot gigabit, and since linksys finally started rolling on with cisco to compete with netgear on the gigabit table. Too bad they changed their 4 straight-leg bluebox design to a silvery slant-leg box design.

Ok, basically, the main focus would be on bi-directional print servers.
Generally, print servers just do on think.....print.
Bi-directional print server all the use of most-all of the features in a multifunction device....such as scanning of faxing....

Can anyone help me find such a device with a good rating.
I dont need wireless since because I dont need another useless access point. I am interested in mainly wired application. They do not have to have gigabit transfer rates.

The first one I found is the IOGEAR GMFPSU01, but I would like to know if other models exist from competators so I can compare....

The IOGEAR GMFPSU01 is sketchy at most.
It looks kind of a product that has been left on the backburner after being developed.
It has a single interface, only USB 1.1 ability.

I found another device that looks even better.
The Silex SX-5000U2

Basically, your looking the wrong place if your looking for a print server to do that....
If you google "device server" you will get better luck....

These device servers sort of defeat the purpose of intranet file servers....

Thumbs UP = USB 2.0, multidevice support, pnp ability to support other devices.

Thumbs DOWN = Only 10/100 ethernet......480mbit>100mbit bottleneck when using USB 2.0 ....

What would be nice, is a device server with gigabit speed....
