ping,vnc and RDP problem with user

Hi,

Here is the problem, we have a user who has come back from Nigeria and his laptop since then cannot be seen on our network. He has full access as if normal and can ping all but we cannot ping him.

windows firewall is disabled and we have tried dropping him from the domain and flushing dns to no avail. we cannot even VNC or RDP to his laptop, which is a Panasonic Toughbook CF-74, intel duo running windows XP.

We have even changed his switch port and still nowt!

any ideas anyone?

Have you checked the laptop for any newly added software that may be blocking these functions? If he is able to ping out, but you can't ping him, that to me would suggest that something on that host is the issue....
