Ping doesn't relate to connection speed?

Hi,
My 56k modem pings on battle.net was around (average)380 msec
i recently got a 256/64 ADSL connection and the ping got to (average)360 msec
Changed that to 512/128 Adsl and ping went to 330 msec
after that(my current connection)is 512/256 and ping went to 300 msec
So final result is a difference of 80 msec between my 512/256 ADSL and my 56/33 Modem? is that all they got??
I tried pinging to battle.net east, west even a cracked server...all showed a close ping of 3XX millisecond

Any1 could help me?

I would think that if there was a bottleneck, my modems ping would've been 1651321 msec , not 380 :D
...oh yea.. sorry.. u maybe meant a bottleneck @ my ISP.. ;)
well..donno really but they seem to be the best here in egypt.

When you have a high ping rate like that, it could mean that you're geographically far from the server, the server is busy or any of the networks in between are congested.
