peer-to-peer file sharing problem

i currently have it set up as the: this computer accesses the internet through another computer (the router)

no that is wrong since you are not going through another machine. you are going through a router.

try the "this computer connects directly to internet or through a network HUB option". do this to all computers.

ok cool that half worked thanx everyone for your help so far

i can now access both computers however i still have the problem of not being able to view prg files and windows on either pc

I have figured out most of it now... ive gotten rid of the need for a user name and password request by re-re-running the soho setup wizard in xp, setting it up with the "computer connect to a hub" option

ive managed to get access to the windows dir from both computers by sharing the root drive as a new share and giving it a new share name. but for some odd reason the prg file dir is still inaccessable
