Okay, managed to fix it. I did a nmap on my computer and found that all ports were filtered. I had a ping going on a linux box, and found when I rebooted, it sucessfully pinged until I logged on. I went in to computer management and looked at the services, my cisco vpn client was set to automatically start, when I disabled that, I could received pings. Does anyone know why this would happen. My other XP box has the same automatic setting for Cisco, but it is a different version of Cisco. I have had this newer version of cisco installed for quite a long time and don't know why all of a sudden it was blocking my ports.
Thanks
