I had some issues with internet connectivity. i was unable to access anything so i manually configured my ip address and everything works now. for some reason though, at the command prompt i cant ping my ip address. the loop back address will ping and i have normal internet connectivity, any idea whats going on?

what does "ipconfig /all" say?
I think you can ping yourself ( put your address or just say localhost). If you cant then i would take a guess that you have a firewall which blocks incoming ping packets (icmp packets) but allows outgoing ping packets. incoming icmp packets are generally disabled to avoid DOS attacks. check your firewall. and i wouldn't worry about it because it seems you have no problems with your connection. hope this helps . c ya!!
