New to a laptop(wireless)

i am looking for a laptop and have couple of questions regarding internet

right now i have desktop with dial-up

i want to have a laptop with me with and working internet all the time how can that be done are there companies who offer that?

i know i can use at home or so and set up wireless network but its only will be in my house but i want it to work almost anywhere in my area

I'll probably get flamed because I can see a lot of problems with what I am about to say but......
I have Verizon Wireless Broadband. It's not worth the hype but it is a good way to stay on the net *almost* anywhere. My wife and I recently drove from Maryland to kansas city to Kearney Nebraska and back. I had a signal most of the time. It is not the safest nor the fastest but if you need a connection almost anywhere for some reason, this is a good option.

thats one way to go, i dont see to much of a problem with that idea, nor see why you would get flamed what works, works. there are also cell phones that you can connect your laptop to and use that for an internet signal.
