Networking Icon

Why does the networking icon take so long to appear in taskbar when booting to desktop. This is a clean install of XP (Icon appeared immediately last night).The only programs I have installed are the following:
-Spybot Search & Destroy
-Adaware
-Hijackthis
-Diskeeper
-Antivir
-TweakUI
Ive performed spyware\virus scans and have found nothing,Tried disabling startup programs, but no help.

Try installign drivers for your network card, or updating them if you have.
