Hi,

I've got two Netgear DG834GTs. The first is set up as a normal router on 192.168.0.1 and configured for wireless etc. I just got the second one and connected it to the first with an ethernet cable.

What will the address of the second router be? I need to be able to access it to configure it, and it doesn't appear on the attached devices list of the primary router.

The second router is working as I'm accessing the internet like this at the moment:

Me -> 2nd R -> 1st R -> internet

...but that's all with cables, the wireless isn't working hence why I need the ip of the second router to sort it out.

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance

Just connect directly to the second router without using the original router.

type ipconfig in a command prompt to get its ip listed as default gateway. should be 192.168.0.1.

Change the lan ip of the router to something different like 192.168.0.2. keep it out of the dhcp range of your primary router.
Turn off dhcp.
then connect it back with the origional router with the cable in to any of the normal ports not using the wan.
