Need a little bit of advice about the length of ethernet cords.

My cockerspaniel champion finally destroyed my d-link wua 2340 adapter.
It's out of warranty so I am currently screwed without my internet.
I looked at walmart.com just now and they have 14 foot ethernet cable for 9.98 and a 50 foot cable for 12.88
My room is very close to my mom's office, it takes 6 or 7 steps to get into her office and her computer is next by a wall with cable modem and netgear router.

Which is my best bet to any of these 2 ethernet cable packs ?
I am sending my neighbor down to get them in the afternoon, I can't leave the house because 3 of our bathrooms will be tore down and being rebuilt.

Well I would always prefer to have too much rather than too little.

I would spend the extra $3 for the 50 foot cable. Plus you never know when you might need a loner one later.

Stuff it under the carpet or get a rounded staple gun and guide it along we it's least likely to be a bother with that much cable too.
