Hi
I need to buy a PCI network card for my old computer
can you guys suggest be one.
should i go for a D-link card?
i use windows xp?

If you want something fancy, i dont know what to suggest. If you want something simple and inexpensive, try Belkin. I'm going out today to purchase a Belkin card for my older pc. It costs 15 bucks and you can pick it up at Office Depot or Staples. It's simple and get's the job done. I installed one on another pc here in the house and it works fine. I decided to go get another one today since it works well enough.

Hey rookie1010,

If the wireless router your using is a D-link and you are
happy with it get a D-link PC Card. I have setup SOHO's
with D-Link, Linksys, and Belkin and I bought the equipment
as to the customers preference.

A word of advice is that in some instances a different
manufacters wireless card may not work on the Wireless
AP or Router you are using. It doesn't happen a lot but
in a few instances it does happen.

Good Luck.

i am still in the wired age.
i have not advanced the wireless age.

belkin sounds good.
thansk for the info dudes

No prob. I ran to staples earlier. They had the Belkin card i was looking for... and for the same price i bought my other one from Office Depot. For 14.98 you can't beat it. It's simple and the drivers work for all Operating Systems. The manual even mentions compatibility with Linux and Unix (heck most others that i've seen won't even mention non-Windows OS's).

The D-Link alternative costs 19.98 or something like that. I choose to save 5 bucks and go with Belkin for network cards.
