Nasty Connection Dilemma

Hey Folks,

IÂ’ve got a problem with an XP computer that is baffling me. Whenever I click on my dial up connection nothing happens. No connect to the internet with user/password prompt appears at all. Nothing.

So I tried using the Network Connection Wizard to create a new connection, but as I get to the end of the process my system told me that there was insufficient memory to carry out the task. This is simply ludicrous. And yet, if I then check the Internet Settings/Connections, the new connection has been created. But although these connections appear in there, the icons for them in Network Connections seem to have disappeared (and shorcuts to them donÂ’t work).

ItÂ’s not an ISP problem, so far as I can seem, as thereÂ’s another computer with the same account in my house that is running fine. Several restarts, Spybot and AVG anti-virus scans and WinShampoo Optimizations have all failed to resolve this.

What do I do?

-Cheers
