My Default Gateway!

For some reason my default gateway keeps turning off. For example, i quickly sign off msn messenger and sign back on, but it doesn't let me sign back on. It says that my internet connection has failed. I do a quick msn check and it says that my default gateway is turned off. This doesn't let me access the internet either, until i reboot my computer. It has only recently started, can anyone help?plz

Sounds like a connection issue. What kind of internet do you have?
If it is dial up then you seem to be getting kicked offline for some reason.
If it is DSL/Cable the next question is are you connected with a router/ USB/ or direct ethernet?
