My aim and trillian keep messing up

Hey lately I've had a problem with my trillian it wont kick me off or anything but everyone I IM wont get my ims and itll show im online for them but wont let me receive any IMs , I thought it might be trillian so I downloaded AIM and om getting the same problem. How can i fix this?

you may need to open ports. if you dont know the port go to portforward.com it will also walk you through how to open the ports. if you dont have a router you may need to open ports in windows or modem.
