As technology evolves, more and more devices require access to the network, or an always on internet connection. My problem is with our current Linksys Wireless G router (I'm not sure of the exact model) there just isn't enough ports to support all of the devices that want internet. We currently have 4 PC's hardwired, a network hard drive, a Dish Network DVR, multiple gaming systems, and soon a new Blu-Ray player that does streaming video. In addition to 3 laptops and a printer on the wireless. Up till now I have just been switching the cables back and forth when needed, which is fine, but often quite annoying. And things like the DVR always need access to the internet for programming updates. So my question is, is it possible to link multiple routers together to get additional ports, or do they make a wireless router with more than 4 hardwired ports?

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

You can but you would need to turn off dhcp on the new router.

You would be best served by just picking up a switch versus paying more for a router.
