Hey all-

I came across an article somewhere that said you can speed up modify your cable internet connection to obtain very high speeds. Here is what it said:

First, u need to goto Start, then run. Type in regedit in the box. Next, goto the
folder HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\services\VxD\MSTCP
Now, find the string DefaultRcvWindow . Now, edit the number to 64240 then
restart your computer. There you go. High speed cable modem now with out dloading a program.

I was looking around and I don't have the MSTCT in my services in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. Should I? And if I were to do what this person said would it make it faster?

Thanks for you input.

Yes that does increase your speed. But doing it through registry yourself is laborious and you shouldn't have to use ancient methods lol jk..
You can have this done for you.. Please read my response to this thread and you should be able to find a couple of ways to get an increase by changes to your TCP receiving window..

Let me know if this helped...
