modem or router problems

We recently moved into our new house and we had mediacom come and set up our modem and television for us. we are running a wireless network in this house for all 5 people. the problem is, the internet will work fine for 15-20 min, then you need to restart the modem to get it to work again. its the modem that needs to be restarted and not the router. which made me think this was a mediacom problem and not our own router problem. anyone else ever had this problem and is it an easy fix?

try restoring the router to its factory settings 1st then start looking at the for the faults in modern n that

i would just try to unplug the router completely and the modem, turn them off for like 30 seconds - 1 minute and try again. if that doesnt work the comps might be too far from the router?
