I've got a question here. Im working on a friend's laptop and since i have never owned a laptop, i've never had to deal with this kind of thing before.
He recently purchased a motorola cellphone and a data connectivity package called "Mobile Phone Tools" which basically lets him use his cell phone as a modem when he's mobile. I'm in the process of setting this all up for him, but i've got a question.
Isn't a dialup account still necessary for him? It seems logical to me that it would be. I'm not sure if motorola or his phone company set something up for him, i will find out about that shortly.
The guy that sold him this phone and the software package told him that he'd need to download some kind of patch file in order for it to work, but i see no reference of a patchfile on the software manual or the motorola website.
Anyone know anything about this and care to reply? Any response is appreciated.
