I want the messanger service to start up during logon without having to go to every computer and manually set it to start. I know i can go into the services, set it to automatic, and then start it but there are to many computers to go around and do this to.

What i was thinking is to put it into the logon script that we currently have.
I put in the line:
net start messenger

i also went to the group policy and set the messenger service to automatic. It does not start though. any ideas on what i am missing?

this is our current logon.bat that runs during logon:

net use g: /delete /y
net use h: /delete /y
net use g: \\filesrvr\gdata
net use h: \\filesrvr\hdata
net time \\filesrvr /set /y
net start messenger
