I have a mapped network drive on a Win2003 Server that stores student data. The student workstations are running XP. I was able to get it working on some machines using the Administrator account and when I log on the same workstation with a limited account for students, it works. On other machines, I do the same thing and the mapped drives are not visible from the limited accounts. I log onto the same machine with the Administrator account and it works. I log back on with the limited account (same machine) and the mapped drive is not visible.

All help is appreciated.

Try to map them from the limited accts and it will prompt you for a password. Check remember password and that should do it.

Is this on a domain?

Network Mapped drives are a user account specific thing.
You will need to map them for each user.

A couple of ideas.

1. If you're on a domain, use a group policy log-in script
2. If you're not on a domain, add a login script to the all-users startup directory (c:\documents and settings\all users\start menu\programs\startup)

If you need help with the script let us know.
