ok, forget that idea... looks like the WAG54G model routers don't yet have any firmware updates available per the Linksys homepage..

I would try re-connecting the phone cord from the wall to the router to be sure it is securley plugged in.... if you have a spare, you could also try to replace it.

You would have to look at the router to get the version... SHOULD be on the box if you still have it... likely also on any material enclosed in the box with the router. Last place to on the ruoter itself. without knowing EXACTLY what model router you have, you shouldn't download firmware.
