I am having a problem with my home workgroup useing three computers on Windows XP Pro.
One computer is not allowing access giving the error message "user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer."
I've narrowed down the problem to be related to the inaccessable computer's local security policy setting "Access this computer from the network". I realize that by defaukt it should have some setings there and it did when I first installed xp but now it is blank.
I am able to go in and add users and groups which allws access for a few minutes but the setings that I add are gone within 2 or three minutes and once again my workgroup is inoperable.
I have run several virus and spyware scans with no luck. This computer does have SP2 installed.
This happened before and I got so fed up with it that I formatted the hard drive and reinstalled the OS but I really don't want to have to go through that again as I have just finished reinstalling all the programs I want on the computer.
Any idea why it is doing this or how it can be resolved?? I can't imagine that it hasn't happened to soemone else who may have found a solution.
Thanks!!
